INNOTRANS 2022

We visited INNOTRANS 2022 again. It took place after 4 years due to the Covid pandemic, but that only meant more engagement and livelier discussions. The stand of Europe's Rail JU was subject to particular interest, including visit from the commissioner Adina Vălean and the general director of DG MOVE Henrik Hololei. Basically all founding members of the JU were present. The stand was also visited by the top representatives of international organisations from the railway sector, like CER, UIC, UNIFE, and other organisations.

INNOTRANS also hosted many interesting demonstrations, presentations, seminars and workshops. The digital automated coupler (DAC) workshop was a subject of great interest. It was a place of some very intriguing and at times heated discussion which, in my opinion, contributed to a better understanding of the importance of this major and significant project.

We had the opportunity to meet many interesting and important people at the trade fair. Few wanted to miss this opportunity to meet after years of remote communication.

One of the accompanying events was also a social event at the embassy of the United Kingdom where we reflected on WCRR 2022, a previous major event which took place in Birmingham in Spring.
