Connecting Europe Express 2021

The main and the most important event of the EU Year of Rail. The CEE train had four longer stops in the Czech Republic - in Ostrava, Brno, Prague, and Pilsen.

It arrived to Brno in the evening of 24th September, then continued to Prague on 25th where it was ceremonially welcomed by the Vice-Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport Mr Karel Havlíček. On the way between Brno and Prague, the train itself was used to host a conference on HSR development in Czechia, and development of TEN-T. There were many bilateral talks about other topics as well, including research and innovation or interoperability, especially with European Commission representative Water Götz, Head of the Cabinet of the Commissioner Valean, Mr Giorgio Travaini, Head of Research at Shift2rail JU. Also, there was an official meeting with the minister of transport of the Free State of Saxony on the topic of building HSR from Dresden to Prague.

The train continued on its way through Pilsen to Germany on Sunday 26th.
